Gift Certificates

Chamber Gift Certificates are an important membership benefit!

Chamber gift certificates are used as employee recognition gifts, anniversary gifts, customer satisfaction awards, birthday and retirement gifts, etc. Certificates can be personalized and clip art added. There is no charge to purchase or to use a Chamber gift certificate and no charge to the Chamber member for accepting a gift certificate. They are used just like cash for the face value of the certificate. When a member accepts a gift certificate for the face value, it is reimbursed to the Chamber member by Chamber check as quickly as one day after accepting a certificate. Certificates can only be used at Chamber member businesses. Since the program’s inception in 2002, more than $1 million have been returned to the Chanute economy.

Advertising at the top of the gift certificate is available to Chamber members for $100 per calendar year.

Chamber members choose how a gift certificate can be used at their business. The intent of the program is to have the money be spent locally so that it “recirculates” in the Chanute economy.

Exchanging a gift certificate for a store gift card that can be utilized in that local store is an acceptable use of a Chamber gift certificate. “Cashing” a gift certificate goes against the intent of the program.

However, giving change from the total amount of the certificate after a sale is totally acceptable as the merchant will be reimbursed for the face value of the gift certificate.

Current Chamber Membership Required at Time of Redemption/Reimbursement. Gift Certificates CANNOT be deposited, redeemed for CASH, used to purchase bank credit cards or to pay fees or loans. It is at the discretion of the Chamber member business on the redemption of the gift certificate.
