Early Childhood
Our Early Childhood Education program, including Head Start and Early Head Start, serves income-qualified families with children aged 0-5 and expectant mothers across our twelve counties. We offer services to families who are not able to qualify and can pay for the service.
Program Summary
Early Head Start offers infants, toddlers, and pregnant women comprehensive services through daily education services (preschool), monthly home visits and parent engagement activities. Parents are partners in Early Head Start. Each program provides opportunities for parents to improve their parenting skills, knowledge, and understanding of the educational and developmental needs of their children. Early Head Start also offers parents opportunities for their own growth and support in identifying and meeting goals.
Early Head Start is funded with federal assistance through the Department of Health and Human Services and state funding provided by the Department of Children & Families. There is no monetary cost to eligible families.
